The city is famous for its historical monuments, including the remarkable 13th-century St. George’s Cathedral with its unique stone carvings and the St. Michael the Archangel Monastery, founded in the city’s citadel. Furthermore, Yuryev-Polsky has preserved most of the fortress’s earthen ramparts.
